Welcome everyone to our website. Our 25th wedding anniversary is a
very special occasion for us and it is even more special that we would
be able to share this day with our closest and dearest family and
friends.
On this site, our techno-children Alan and Jess have helped put
together for us information and other items of interest so please
feel free to browse. We would love to receive your messages in our
Guestbook.
"....
Going for Gold! ...."
The
day started with rain and quite a few "butterflies". It
ended as one of the most enjoyable and definitely memorable days
for Jet and I. And now, we are at year one again going for the next
25 or as Pastor Rasik said, "going for Gold".
The Day...
The
3.00pm start was missed but we will blame Wellington City Council
for that for not providing sufficient car parks for the 150 friends
who turned up. Our plan to soften up everyone with the little boys
and girls walking in worked a treat although we are not too sure
whether anyone noticed us when we walked in at the back. Everything,
including the weather, just went so smoothly.
The
reception at Begonia House finished off the day nicely. Great food,
fine drinks and exceptional company not to mention some smooth dancers
on the floor.
We
would again like to convey our greatest respect and thank you to
each of you who has advised, listened, cooked and baked, served,
carried, decorated, moved, sang, washed, photographed and video
recorded, "IT'ed", "electrified" and demonstrated
what true friendship is about.
We
thank you for your very warm and generous words of congratulations
and best wishes and also for your very thoughtful gifts.
As
I said during the evening, we hope that the day will be remembered
as a celebration of more than just our silver anniversary; it was
also a celebration of OUR friendship and our times together. Your
presence - and the love sent from those of you who couldn't make
it - has made us realize just how special you are in our lives.
We
have gathered onto this site, various memories in the forms of photographs,
video clippings as well as various records from the day and hope
that you will enjoy these. Of course, the greatest moments experienced
from the day have been captured and locked away in our minds and
in our hearts and these are the love and joy expressed and received
from you.
We
pray that each of you will receive and taste God's abundant blessings
as much as we have.
God
bless

Our Story...
Jet and I first met when we were in secondary school in Malaysia.
That was in the early 70s. Our paths crossed often as we were in
the same St John Ambulance club and became "an item" in
1975. So it was more a case of love after many sights!
In 1973, Jet and I performed together in an impromptu musical concert
in Penang which had a prophetic significance - we sang the song
"Pokarekare Ana". In January 1976, Jet came to Christchurch
to attend 7th form at Avonside Girls High. I spent 2 miserable months
in Malaysia before coming to Victoria University, Wellington in
March.
We married at the Christchurch Registry on the 31 March 1980 with
our brothers, KP and Jit, as "bestmen". The presence of
our Kiwi family - the Longworths - made that day most memorable
for us. For various reasons, the intended "white wedding"
never happened.
Jet and I could hardly believe that it's been 25 years since that
day. They are right when they say that time flies when one is having
fun. As we approach our 25th year of marriage, we have collected
innumerable fond memories and gathered many beautiful friends. We
thank God for his blessings upon our marriage and for being there
always.
We now look forward to reaffirming our vows before God and in the
presence of our dearest family and friends.
Thank you for supporting and loving us over the years and for being
part of us.
God bless.
